In NYC the Brits are known for for their press stunts... Often they sounded amusing, when watched at a safe distance... Lots of New Yorkers on business prefered Paris back then, it was much cheaper, even to do business with the Brits, meeting at a great old inexpensive restaurant one of us would know... Or meeting new British suppliers at the event their Ambassador would usually host around Premiere Vision and the other Parisian textile and support shows...
However, back then, there was a story going around about a young couple of Brit lingerie designers who placarded LFW, with signs that read something along the lines: "No More M&S Choose S&M CHOOSE Agent Provocateur" Designer LULU LIU
PS: As far as we can report "No Dogs Were Hurt" in LULU's stunt...

The Artist/Comedian and one of the organisers Miriam Elia, Bio sold out the evening and raised money for the charity... Congrats xxx The art exhibition runs through Monday 26th September 2011 Finally, over the series of events, I met so many wonderful people interested in mental health but none that I met talking on the subject was the book below, A basic for anyone on the Road Less Travelled

The guys below were supposed to be stopping traffic... I was distracted because I had just managed to light a smoke in the wind.. But the Parkour Star in my pics were not good enough for him and he then did some great Free-Running moves ever more complicated... Until the cops came by, very friendly asking us to move... Thank goodness, before one of us got clipped by a car... DSC_0008 Parkour-Street_Free-Running_Celeb2
Below: The Tucs who loves to make art in the garden with me was at the Venice Biennial yesterday... "I can do that" he's thinking or "should I tidy that up?" but rather take the bait has decided to be a junior Flâneur (English slang equivlent: old flannel artist Verb. To flatter.) and just look and try and find some thing nice to say

Love "The Rat Pack" Look: BUT too tight for next spring...

DSC_0034
Sexy if your very fit... But sorry, to me this look's so over... Very "Last Year"... If you follow the blog you will know, I promote "Make or Mend"... But if you have to shop I'm encouraging investing in Luxe: Sorry, but to stay in style when time's get tough, you will need to be deciplined, shopping carefully and staying within a budget... And resist impulse purchases... instead look around and find a better version from a vintage shop or more up-market shop that use good fabrics...
Years from now you'll thank me, when you have your own collection of of great pieces... and you can pass them on to your kids...
Below this guy is wearing what the vintage market, stateside call the "Western Riding Coat" cut-full popular for layering using as the top coat... A coat for all seasons and can be cut in anything you have around, from denim to cashmeer iv you have a nice piece waiting to be cut...

These pics remind me of club kids in NYC back in the day, when I was an early homesteader to the meat-packing district, hanging with Connie and Billy Metz... Billy was an opinionated Queen but with great taste who grew up in Clark NJ, and someone who was always embroiled in a feud with a friend... He lived for a time at The Chelsea Hotel , but after one party could not face the mess back at his room's and never returned to the hotel... Only a week later he was installed in a very small studio which he covered in gray flannel wool to look masculine, which it did except for the large dolls house which he wanted us all to work over the winter... But I soon tired of the irony of the situation, which Billy felt and we fell out... Michael Kors held something in his memory at the Duplex but sent regrets explaining I was up in Westchester hobbling around on crutches after my first knee break... When actual the reason being that I always associated that bar with show tunes which I'v never gotten...
